My name is Matt Brown. I am moving out to Edmonton next year to go to University of Alberta,
and am looking for a Junior Men's team (2010-2011). I am 17 years old (turning 18 in July) and
this is my 13th season playing curling (7th year competitive). I have been in a couple superleagues
and won a couple of junior leagues. I have competed and qualified for the 13 & Under, 16 & Under and
Junior Provincials. In 2008, we won the 16 & Under Provincials and competed in the 2009 U18 International Optimist championships. I have also played high schools, and have played in zone final last year and this year.
I have played every position in curling but mostly second or third but I am willing to play any postition. I have also attended Kevin Martin's Curling Academy at the Saville Sports Centre the past two years. This year I plan to play in the Kevin Martin Junior Bonspiel and Kevin Martin's Curling Academy.

RE-TOOLING YOUR SENIOR MEN’S TEAM FOR 2010-11 SEASON—NEXT YEAR??
I would like to get back into competitive seniors as semi-retirement nears (had curled in early seniors at Thistle with Randy Clarke/Ron Davies/Vic Romanyshyn.) I’m now age 57, have 3 years until Masters so time to get back in.
Most competitive play has been at lead, strong sweeper and judgement (I think I can sweep/judge/call out weight as well as the Hannah, Johnson, or Sutton front ends. I know the game from playing all positions in club curling, can read ice and releases well. I certainly know how club curlers can beat themselves through bad strategy.
The following Thistle seniors will know my abilities; Jim Moats of Rick McCuaig seniors, Jeff Rubin and Dave Douglas of Jeff Rubin seniors, and Jim (alias Brother-Uncle ) Bucholz who has curled WCT and some seniors with R.McCuaig.
Would look at all possibilities including playing lead on a competitive masters team who needs younger front end for seniors playdowns. If interested can practice,spare, go to spiel or other tryout, good team player, non interfering front ender but can offer opinion during game if asked or before/after game.
