HOW TO BECOME A TRAINED INSTRUCTOR


 

CLUB COACH

The Club Coach program is a workshop designed to enhance the skill set of the Instructor who function predominantly at the club level.  The Club Coach will be competent in training curlers from youth to masters, with skill levels of Beginner or Novice to Intermediate.  The Club Coach is able to instruct Novice (Learn to Curl) and Intermediate clinics.

The Club Coach is able to:

  • Plan and design a curling clinic
  • Make ethical decisions
  • Teach correct curling skills
  • Analyze and correct curling skills
  • Ensure a safe coaching environment
  • Plan, manage and design a curling program

CLUB COACH YOUTH

This is a community based program designed for parents to help out at the club level with youth curlers ages 6-16 years.  The program is a 7-hour workshop that deals with everything from basic delivery/sweeping mechanics to program safety, set-up and logistics. This program contains basic information on everything you will need to run or assist with a successful junior (6-16 years) program in your club.

 

The Club Coach Youth is able to:

  • Prepare a safe environment
  • Make ethical decisions
  • Lead curlers in activities which are age suitable, safe and technically correct for youth curlers
  • Manage youth club programs
  • Demonstrate correct coaching behaviors
